Well, hello again. Since the planning stages of this ‘Blog’, it has been my intention to write something on a monthly basis. I have procrastinated this month, until the bitter end, and will endeavor to do better in the future.
Currently, I am preparing for my upcoming solo show at Studio 1234 (Studio Twelve Thirty-four) at 1234 College Street in Toronto. I will be showing at Studio 1234, for the entire month of October, with an Opening Reception on Saturday, October 4th from 2pm – 5pm. I have chosen the name ‘Phoenix’ for the show and will be presenting an entirely new body of work, at that time. The gallery is owned by Lucinda Knowlton and both she and I look forward to meeting many of you there.
I have recently completed several pieces for ‘Phoenix’ and, although paintings are like our children (we love them all), I particularly like a piece called ‘Seven’. I am currently working on the show’s namesake, ‘Phoenix’, and find it appealing as well.
I am excited to announce that I will have the opportunity to take part in ‘Art at the Castle, 2008’ at Casa Loma this year. This is the Christmas event and it will take place on Sunday, November 9, 2008 from 10am – 9pm. This should prove to be a wonderful day and, if you have the opportunity, please try to attend.
In the next week or two I will complete my new line of jewellery for The McMichael Canadian Art Collection, Gift Shop. I have made gold plated earrings, vermeil earrings, silver earrings and silver bracelets. My pieces usually showcase Swarovski crystal, vintage crystal and/or semi-precious gems. If you are in Kleinburg after mid to late August, please stop in and have a look at my offerings for this season. I feel they are very wearable and reasonably priced.
We (the people who comprise ‘Kendall Hurley Gallery’) are considering the possibility of offering my paintings and jewellery for sale from this web site. I would be most interested to know your opinion on this subject. Please contact me kendallhurley©kendallhurleygallery.com.
Again, I invite you to take advantage of my Guestbook. I look forward to hearing from you.
